SymReboot L19 - In-cosmetics Preview

SymReboot™ L19

This year at in-cosmetics, Symrise introduced a novel ingredient opening brand-new perspectives in the field of microbiotic solutions for sensitive skin.

Probiotics have been precisely defined by the FAO and the WHO as live microorganisms that, when administered in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit on the host. Their beneficial effects rely on the unique mix of good molecules they deliver, but not only.  The reason of their specific action is also to be found in the nature and structure of the bacteria’s membranes.  These are smart delivery systems:

1- They transport all the beneficial molecules contained in the biotics.
2- Their structure is a communication interface with skin cells.

However, handling living micro-organisms in cosmetic formulation impose dissuasive constraints. On the other hand, deactivation processes destroy bacteria’s membrane and only give access to part of their benefits.  Would there be a solution to deliver the full benefits of probiotics, without having to handle living microorganisms?

Symrise, a major shareholder of a leading probiotic player, with over 30 years of experience, more than 400 patents, has taken up the challenge and has introduced a breakthrough innovation at in-cosmetics this year.
